  • Has a need for QA, but may not be a fully dedicated QA so he is looking for a software engineer
  • Would like a software engineer who has knowledge on how to setup some of these tests

 

Job Title: Software Engineer III with QA Skills (CMS Environment)

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our web applications

deployed via our Content Management Systems (CMS). The role involves developing and

maintaining automated testing frameworks for site monitoring, ensuring that our deployed

content meets the highest standards of quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have

experience in software engineering with a focus on QA, particularly within CMS environments,

and will be proficient in using tools like Selenium to monitor and test web applications.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering or Quality Assurance, preferably in a

CMS environment

 BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

 Experience in developing and executing automated test scripts for web applications,

preferably with site monitoring tools like Selenium

 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

 Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for testing and monitoring

web content

 Familiarity with back-end technologies and basic scripting for data validation and API

testing

 Experience with site monitoring and automated testing tools, such as Selenium, to

validate content and functionality post-deployment

 Knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., OpenText Team Site, Verint's Telligent) is a plus but

not required

 Understanding of web performance testing and monitoring tools

 Experience with version control systems like Git

 Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to work within an Agile framework

 Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Collaborate with the development and content teams to understand CMS deployment

processes and identify key areas for quality assurance

 Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts specifically designed for

monitoring and validating content and functionality in a CMS-deployed environment

 Monitor live sites for performance, accessibility, and functionality, using automated tools

and manual checks as needed

 

 Identify, record, document, and track bugs, and work closely with developers and

content creators to ensure timely fixes

 Design and implement QA processes that are tailored to the needs of a CMS

environment, ensuring content quality and site performance

 Analyze test results, monitor site performance, and provide detailed reports to the

development, content, and product teams

 Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in site monitoring and web application

testing

 Assist in the integration of automated site monitoring into existing CMS workflows if

applicable

 All other duties as assigned

 

 

About the Role: The Software Engineer with QA Skills (CMS Environment) will play a crucial

role in ensuring the quality and performance of our web applications post-deployment. This role

requires someone who is comfortable working within CMS environments and has the ability to

develop and execute automated tests focused on site monitoring. The ideal candidate will be

proactive in identifying potential issues in live deployments and ensuring that our content meets

the highest standards of quality.

 

Requirements:

 Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience in site

monitoring and automated testing

 Familiarity with CMS platforms, with experience in OpenText Team Site or Verint's

Telligent being a plus

 Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-

functional teams

 Experience with web performance testing, accessibility testing, and site monitoring tools

 Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test-driven development (TDD) practices
