Job Title - Network Infrastructure Engineer
Mandatory Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in a structured cabling environment. Greater consideration will be given to proposers with five or more years of such experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience working with:
- external general contractors and architects on design and implementation.
- external and contracted cabling vendors to ensure job requirements are met to appropriate Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) standards.
- Maintaining requirements documentation and reviewing as-builts to ensure documentation matches actual implementation.
- Installing and Configuring Wireless Access Points (WAP).
- Installing and basic configuration on Access Switches.
- Neatly patching connections from patch panels into switches.
- High organizational skills allowing coordination of multiple projects at the same time, including personal handling of field work and on-site supervision of infrastructure implementation and device installation.
- Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds of IT equipment comfortably, such as PCs and servers.
- Must be able to work both on-site and, if needed, remotely.
Experience In:
- structured cabling standards and cable specifications (ANSI/TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801).
- IT network design principles, routing protocols, subnetting, VLANs, and IT security mechanisms to ensure the efficient and secure operation of IT network infrastructure.
- various IT networking technologies, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and others
