Job Description

7027 - Senior Network and Cloud Infrastructure Architect (Must currently reside in the Sacramento area)​

The program delivers secure, robust, scalable data center services, both on-premises and cloud-based, to meet evolving needs. Enterprise services are provided through various technologies in partnership with a managed service provider.

The Technical Analyst oversees multiple technology projects, working alongside project managers, engineers, vendors, and IT staff. Responsibilities include acting as a technical liaison, documenting technical assessments, validating requirements, generating system design diagrams, ensuring compliance with security policies, and providing expertise on shared infrastructure.

This role focuses on core infrastructure technologies, such as enterprise directory services, name resolution, managed file transfer, and connectivity with external partners, with additional projects assigned as needed.
 

Required Qualifications :

 

Minimum of 10 years technical experience with network infrastructure, information security architecture and application system deployment projects

 

Minimum of 5 years technical experience with state government IT projects

 

Minimum of 3 years working experience in a government agency and interfacing with other government agencies or entities

 

Minimum of 3 years technical experience with tier 3 data center environments

 

Experience working on multiple simultaneous IT projects throughout the entire life cycle from design to deployment

 

Experience managing technical projects, including conflict resolution, issue escalations, status reporting and resource management

 

Knowledge of Cloud Hosting, cloud architectures, cloud service providers particularly AWS and Azure

 

Knowledge of SD-WAN

 

Knowledge of cloud exchange solutions particularly Equinix

 

Knowledgeable of enterprise network infrastructure design concepts such as

 

         Multi-tier application system design

 

         Client / server system architecture

 

         System security policies and procedures

 

         Data center technology infrastructure

 

         Web-based application deployment

 

         Multi-vender platform integration

 

         PKI administration

 

         Infrastructure capacity planning

 

         Telecommunication infrastructure

 

Networking concepts: routing, switching, security, remote access, proxy

 

Ability to convert business requirements into a technical design and implementation plan

 

Ability to analyze issues from system documentation and recommend solutions

 

High level of technical writing experience

 

Excellent presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including creating and presenting executive summaries to management and technical committees

 

Excellent analytical, verbal and conflict resolution skills

 

Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, domain name services, managed file transfer systems, and firewall access control lists

 
 

Previous project experience with the following state agencies and their systems:

 

         California Department of Motor Vehicles

 

         California Department of Justice

 

         Experience with local or Federal IT Projects

 

         Experience with ServiceNow Project Management Tool

 

         Experience with SharePoint

 

           Experience with SNA Gateway technologies such as Microsoft HIS

 

 

 

 

 

Samples of relevant published work are desired such as technical implementation plans, architectural as-built documentation, test plans, scope of work, project summary sheets, high level network diagrams, etc.
