Onsite 4 days a week. 1 day remote 6 plus months contract. 

Interview process -  1st round will be LEET coding on automation (python)with a team member, final round will be meeting with 2 to 3 members including the hiring mgr

The client doesnt want people from really large companies as they havent worked in the past. They like people from tesla, cruise etc. 

 

H1 candidates are fine, they need to have good comm skills. Good attitude is really impt for them as culture is the key to this company

 

The mgr is ready to interview starting next week.

 

About the role:

We're seeking a Temporary Software Engineer in Test for our next generation Embedded Products. Embedded software teams build devices, which helps scientific researchers make discoveries faster. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of software, hardware, and science to make a real impact on the world, including accelerating research that cures diseases.

You will be responsible for the quality and reliability of our upcoming Embedded products. You will work with various Engineering teams and Business owners to identify the requirements and build tests and verification solutions.

Our products are literally at the frontiers of Technology, that we need to build specialized applications for testing it. You are expected to build various tools and tests collaborating with the team members and integrate it with the automation framework.

This is a temporary 6 month contract on-site in Pleasanton, CA. Existing biology/science background is not required.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop test plan, test scripts, and coverage matrix for comprehensive testing of the systems under test
  • Execute and report results of tests against 10X instruments at both hardware and software levels
  • Automate verification scripts; ensure automation is executed in a CI environment
  • Enhance and maintain automation framework
  • Build various simulators needed for building a sustainable automation setup
  • Perform exploratory tests on new/existing products
  • Evaluate/update existing test plans and test cases
  • Support manufacturing test tool framework development
  • Work with manager and leads to manage the software quality risk

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in Embedded application development or testing
  • Experience in Python with a focus on writing automation framework and test scripts

Desired Qualification:

  • 5+ years in Quality Assurance and UAT with experience across multiple QA initiatives for cloud connected consumer electronics devices or Embedded devices
  • Pytest experience is preferred 
  • Experience creating detailed test cases and test scenarios providing adequate coverage across functional, integration, End to End, Data, and Regression test of the systems
  • Familiarity with UART/CAN, board level testing experience
  • Good understanding of software build tools and CI/CD integrations
  • Good debugging and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and help the team to develop the automation process
