JOB TITLE: Hardware Test Engineer

CLIENT SPECIFICS

•     Day to day:

o     They are looking for someone with an electrical engineering background that develops automated test systems that are used on the electronic manufacturing assembly environment

o     There are several types of automated test systems using both Windows C# .NET as well as LabVIEW

o     Would be focusing on hardware side – creating schematics (ORCAD and Solidworks)

o     Connecting to the test systems

o     They would work on a test station and working with the NI (pixie system) will plug in the modules which have different systems

o     Will write the code that goes into the customizable fixture

o     Somebody to come in to help create schematics for the bases – order the parts and start assembling the base

o     Designing the hardware and build and test out 

o     Validation test plans and help executing the test plans

o     Hardware engineers that are designing tests on the manufacturing floor

 

•            Must Haves:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Similar

o            3-5 years of experience – they do not have time to train

o            Hardware/electronic design (will be dealing with sensors)

o            System schematic experience (ORCAD, SolidWorks, autocad, etc)

o            Understand communication protocols (Modbus, tcp, ethernet, RS232, etc)

•            Plus Haves:

o            Software experience – C# or LabVIEW (LabVIEW would be preference)

o            High voltage experience (120v)

 

TOPS 3 SKILLS:

Must have one of the following

-          Design of LabVIEW test systems

o   Or

-          C# Windows design for Manufacturing Test

Must have worked on manufacturing systems

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Hardware Test Engineer with a strong background in developing automated test systems for electronic manufacturing assembly environments. The ideal candidate will be a hardware-oriented professional with a solid grasp of electronics and some proficiency in software development, particularly in C# and LabVIEW.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automated test systems using Windows C# .NET and LabVIEW.
  • Focus on the hardware aspect of test systems, including creating schematics with ORCAD and Solidworks.
  • Connect and integrate various components into the test systems.
  • Work on test stations, utilizing the NI (pixie system) to incorporate modules for different systems.
  • Write and adapt code for customizable fixtures.
  • Assist in creating schematics for test system bases, ordering parts, and assembling the base.
  • Design, build, and test hardware components.
  • Develop validation test plans and assist in their execution.
  • Design tests for hardware engineers on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field; candidates must be able to hit the ground running as there is no time for training.
  • Proficiency in hardware/electronic design, particularly with sensors.
  • Experience with system schematics (ORCAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Understanding of communication protocols (Modbus, TCP, Ethernet, RS232, etc.).

Plus Haves:

  • Software development experience in C# or LabVIEW (LabVIEW preferred).
  • Experience with high voltage systems (120v).
