Job Description
The Verification Engineer will work with Power Electronic Design Engineers to create and execute verification plans for new product development. You will work in a state-of-the-art R&D lab, handling designs and products up to 1000 volts and 500 HP, including tasks ranging from 1 HP to 500 HP.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective verification and validation strategies for complex systems to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and design test plans.
- Execute and document verification activities, including test cases, procedures, and results.
- Analyze and interpret test data to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve product functionality and performance.
- Utilize various tools and techniques to automate testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for verification and validation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve verification processes to enhance overall product quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of verification tasks within project timelines.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges in the verification process.
- Contribute to the development of new verification tools and methodologies.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in analysis and design of power conversion circuits and equipment using active power devices (IGBTs, diodes, MOSFETs, and SCRs) and passive components (Inductors, transformers, capacitors, etc.).
- Behavior level knowledge of passive and active components.
- Understanding and design experience of power circuit topologies for inverters, DC/DC converters, thyristor circuits, transformers, and inductors.
- Expertise in conducting EMC experiments and EMC mitigation techniques.
- Proficiency in UL and IEC agency requirements and approval procedures for drives.
- Expertise in utility interaction of power conversion equipment regarding power factor correction, harmonic mitigation, etc.
- Expertise in developing simulation models in SPICE, MATLAB, MATHCAD, or similar programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical engineering degree.
- Experience in power electronics and hardware verification.
