Job Description

TITLE: Sr. Systems Engineer

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Windows Server/Desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services

• Understanding of servers and various storage RAID configuration

• Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup

• Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall

• Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption

• Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks

• Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts

• Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data

• Patch and firmware installation and management

• Strong customer service mindset, providing +1 end user support experience

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS Must Have

  • Active Directory & Active monitoring of the entire infrastructure and troubleshoot server
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cyber security, system administration, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in cyber security & system administration, including Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Familiarity with bulk deployment tools and automation. Scripting or programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms. Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures. Experience with network security tools such as NIDS/NIPS/Proxy/Secure Web Gateway/Firewall.
  • Experience with AV/EDR/XDR solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Versatility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implementation of VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments
  • Hyper-V
  • Managed Nutanix clusters & Manage Operating Systems
  • Workstations
  • 2nd and 3rd-level technical support
  • Ability to intrepid, modify and write scripts and SQL queries
  • Analysis of cyber activity / threats
  • Experience with Splunk & Experience with Nutanix
  • Failover Manager administration with clustering VMware
