Question 1

How much does it cost to hire an offshore Databricks engineer through ACE Technologies?

Accepted Answer

Hiring an offshore Databricks engineer through ACE Technologies costs 60-70% less than hiring locally in the US, UK, or EU, with transparent flat monthly pricing starting from $3,500/month for mid-level engineers and $5,500/month for senior Databricks engineers. Pricing includes the engineer's full salary, laptop, benefits, payroll, taxes, HR management, and success support — no separate recruitment fees or onboarding charges. The final rate depends on seniority, specialization (data engineering, Lakehouse architecture, MLOps, streaming), certifications, and engagement model. We provide a detailed quote within 24 hours of your discovery call.

Question 2

How long does it take to hire a Databricks engineer with ACE?

Accepted Answer

Most clients receive matched, pre-vetted Databricks engineer profiles within 48 hours of their initial discovery call, and engineers can start shortly after you approve a candidate. The typical timeline is: Day 1 — discovery call and requirements mapping, within 48 hours — matched Databricks engineer profiles delivered, then interviews with the candidates you choose, followed by onboarding and integration with your team. Our pre-vetted bench of Databricks, Spark, and data engineering talent is what keeps this fast.

Question 3

How do you vet Databricks engineers at ACE Technologies?

Accepted Answer

ACE vets every Databricks engineer through a rigorous multi-stage process that includes a technical skill assessment, live coding tests, system design interviews, real-world data project reviews, an English communication evaluation, and background verification. Only the top 3% of applicants pass our screening. Engineers are specifically tested on production experience with PySpark and Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows, including a hands-on pipeline exercise. We also check Databricks certifications such as Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional where the role requires them. Every profile shared with you includes verified skill scores, portfolio samples, and reference checks.

Question 4

What Databricks skills and technologies do your engineers have?

Accepted Answer

ACE's offshore Databricks engineers are proficient across the full Databricks Lakehouse platform, including Apache Spark and PySpark, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog governance, Databricks Workflows, Auto Loader and Structured Streaming, and Databricks SQL. They also cover MLOps with MLflow, feature engineering and model serving, and data pipeline tooling such as dbt, Airflow, and Terraform. Our engineers work across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, and can handle Lakehouse migrations, ETL/ELT pipeline builds, performance and cost optimization, and data governance setup.

Question 5

Can I hire a Databricks engineer for a short-term project or only full-time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can hire Databricks engineers at ACE on flexible monthly contracts starting from as short as 1 month, with no long-term lock-in. ACE offers Project Staffing, Build-Operate-Transfer, Hire-Train-Deploy, Markup Recruitment, and Rate Card engagement models, so you can match the structure to your project. Short-term engagements (1-3 months) suit pipeline builds and migrations, medium-term engagements (3-12 months) suit full Lakehouse implementations, and long-term engagements (12+ months) suit building an extended data team. You can scale up, scale down, or replace engineers with 30 days' notice, and every engagement is backed by our 30-Day Fit Guarantee.

Question 6

What time zones do your Databricks engineers work in?

Accepted Answer

ACE's Databricks engineers work with at least a 4-hour overlap with your US business hours, so they can join your standups, sprint reviews, and planning sessions in real time. Outside the overlap window they keep working on your backlog, which means progress continues while your own team is offline. Engineers can also provide extra coverage during go-lives, migration cut-overs, and release windows when you need it.

Question 7

Do your Databricks engineers sign NDAs and handle sensitive data securely?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every ACE Databricks engineer signs a comprehensive NDA and IP assignment agreement before the engagement begins, with all intellectual property assigned 100% to your company, including pipelines, notebooks, models, and code. ACE is SOC 2 Type II certified, with endpoint encryption on all engineer devices, VPN-only access to client systems, background-verified staff, and GDPR and HIPAA compliance support. Engineers work inside your own Databricks workspace with least-privilege access through Unity Catalog roles and groups, using dev and sandbox environments before production. We can sign custom DPAs, BAAs, or client-specific security addendums on request.

Question 8

What happens if the Databricks engineer isn't the right fit?

Accepted Answer

If the engineer isn't the right match, ACE replaces them at no additional cost under our 30-Day Fit Guarantee. Tell us within the guarantee period and we will start sourcing a replacement from our pre-vetted Databricks bench right away. After the guarantee period, you can end or change the engagement with 30 days' notice, with no long-term lock-in.
